Annapolis, Maryland

Annapolis is practically around the corner from my home, about an hour away.  A beautiful and charming state capital with great places to dine and enjoy the views.

Annapolis (1)-min

Annapolis is Maryland’s capital and therefore, a seat of government so it has the appropriate governmental buildings.  It is situated approximately 25 miles from Baltimore and 30 miles from Washington, DC.  It sits at the mouth of the Severn River on the Chesapeake Bay.

It has a number of statues on the capital grounds.  Thurgood Marshall statue is well situated on the grounds.  Other miscreants may be hanging around.

The state capital tower is fun to view from several different directions.

If you like gardens, for a real treat, go to St Mary’s Church on 109 Duke of Gloucester St.  The gardens are delightful.

A nice place to sit down and reflect on a hot summers afternoon.
